This large pile of soil was moved by gallery staff and volunteers once a week for the duration of the exhibition. Island is a rumination on symbolic representations of utopic space as a distinct geographical territory, and higlights the neccessity of continued re-investment and reformation as crucial to the act of utopian vision.
